In case you have not heard yet, the Central Wisconsin Literacy Council has a new Executive Director who started in August 2016. He has been busily reorganizing and rebuilding the organization. While there certainly will be changes made, the overall goal and mission will remain the same. The CWLC is hear to assist adults with gaining literacy skills, skills they need to achieve their personal goals. These goals may be increased job opportunities, better pay, a better education or even just being able to read to their grandchildren or access information on the Internet.
While there are an abundant number of areas where one can be literate, reading, math, health, computer, it all boils down to the one point. The more literate you are, the more opportunities you can take advantage of and the more doors you can open yourself to. However, if you are reading this, you probably already know how important the cause is.
Again, even though the leadership has changed, the mission of the Central Wisconsin Literacy Council has not. With neighbors helping neighbors we can slowly build a more vibrant, robust and resilient community.
